Research Coordinator – Banja Luka Public Health Association of Republika Srpska advertises position of the Research Coordinator for the project “Gender-based analysis of young adults’ tobacco use and perceptions of tobacco control policies in Bosnia-Herzegovina” Candidates applying for this position should have: - relevant academic training in research
- considerable experience in the research process
- demonstrate research-related skills (such as data entry, data analysis, report writing, project management, etc.)
- knowledge of public health issues
- strong written and oral communication skills in local language and English
- ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- excellent interpersonal skills and computer skills
- knowledge of the content area (an asset)

Research Coordinator - Description of duties · Meet established timelines for the project by setting specific, detailed timelines for developing data collection materials, training research assistants, collecting data, conducting related field work, entering and analyzing data · Communicate in an official capacity with university administrators and faculty Deans to gain full cooperation · Communicate with faculties to get data on number of students per year per faculty · Invite Banja Luka University administrators and faculty Deans, government officials, healthcare providers and other stakeholders to participate as an advisory committee · Regularly update Principal Applicant and co-Applicant regarding progress of study · Attend research-related meetings and training sessions as required · In consultation with the Principal Applicant, co-Applicant, and advisory committee, develop a draft questionnaire · Organize and perform pilot testing of the draft questionnaire among students · In consultation with the Principal Applicant, co-Applicant, and advisory committee, develop the final questionnaire and the interview script · Assist with writing and submission of applications to Republika Srpska Ministry of Health and Brock University Research Ethics Broad · Prepare the data bases · Develop training procedures for data collectors · Identify and train data collectors for survey administration and interviews · Organize printing of questionnaire, and packing of survey materials for distribution to data collectors and research participants · Manage all aspects survey administration, interviewing, and raw data storage according to policies of PHARS, Banja Luka University, and approved research protocols · Arrange for entering of collected data into database · Perform cleaning and descriptive analysis of quantitative data · Analyze qualitative data · In consultation with the Principal Applicant, co-Applicant, and advisory committee, generate research reports for specific audiences: government officers, university administrators, health professionals, educators, lay people, research participants, funders, and other interested parties · Adhere to contract signed with PHARS |
